Course Director. Best of Stress Management is led by James S. Gordon, M.D. Dr. Gordon is the Founder and Director of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine and a clinical professor at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. One of the world’s leading authorities on stress management and mind-body medicine, he has trained thousands of health professionals and
patients on how to incorporate stress management and other self-care techniques into their lives. He’s helped develop mind-body training programs at medical schools, hospitals, medical centers and private practices around the world. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, he also served as Chairman of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy. Course Instructor. Susan Lord, MD, is an integrative physician who specializes in complementary and alternative medicine using mind-body approaches, energy medicine, functional medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle counseling. A graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, she is formerly the director of nutrition programs for the Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington DC, where she developed and directed the Food As Medicine professional training program for 6 years. Dr. Lord is currently Associate Medical Director and Director of Mind-Body Medicine at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stoc kbridge, MA.

Herbert Benson, M.D. is an international leader in mind-body medicine. Joan Borysenko, Ph.D., is a scientist, psychologist, inspirational speaker, and author of Minding the Body, Mending the Mind, Inner Peace for Busy People, and many other books. Dr. Borysenko was co-founder and former Director of the Mind-Body clinical programs at two Harvard Medical School teaching hospitals.
Belleruth Naparstek, M.A., L.I.S.W., is an internationally recognized innovator in the field of guided imagery and the author of Staying Well with Guided Imagery. Her highly acclaimed Health Journeys guided imagery series is used in over 3,000 hospitals and clinics, and has sold over one million copies worldwide.
